MMTA Wild Edibles and Medicinal Plant Walk with Becky Linger

Have you wanted to learn about wild edibles and medicinal plants that can be found right in your very own woods? Well now you can with the help of a West Virginia Master Naturalist, Becky Linger.
Becky will take you through Meeks Mountain trails and teach you all about the medicinal plants and edibles growing in Hurricane’s backyard.
Take a walk on the “wild” side and enjoy learning how to forage safely and sustainably. West Virginia is all about being wild and wonderful, and there are lot of wild foods to eat. We have weeds, leafy greens, berries, and much more. Sign up and learn a little something!!
We will meet at the Big Red Barn at the Hurricane City Park and walk back to the MMT shelter. From there, we will take one of the trails and learn about edibles in nature. Please be sure to wear hiking shoes and be prepared to walk at least 3 miles. Please do not bring your pets on this hike.
