MMTA Wild Mushroom Hike

Have you wanted to learn about the mushrooms growing right in your very own woods? Well now you can with the Drew Palmer of the Mushroom Club of WV.
Drew will take you through Meeks Mountain trails and teach you all about the mushrooms growing in Hurricane’s backyard.
Take a walk on the “wild” side and enjoy learning how to forage safely and sustainably. West Virginia is all about being wild and wonderful, and there are lot of wild and crazy fungi growing in nature. Maybe you can find some Morels, Oyster Mushrooms, or even Chanterelles.
We will meet at the Big Red Barn at the Hurricane City Park and walk back to the MMT shelter. From there, we will take one of the trails and learn about edibles in nature. Please be sure to wear hiking shoes and be prepared to walk at least 3 miles. Please do not bring your pets on this hike.
