As Mother’s Day approaches, Putnam County has several events happening that are sure to make a memorable Mother’s Day experience! Whether it’s sharing a meal, getting active and outdoors, or a simple stroll to shop, you will find something to delight mothers of all ages here in Putnam County.

Gritt’s Farm Mother’s Day Brunch
Gritt's Farm on Mother's DayKnown for their farm fresh ingredients, Gritt’s Farm regularly hosts farm-to-table events with menus that are full of flavor and variety with one bite! For this event, Chef Jesse Lyons joins the team at Gritt’s for a four-course meal starting with florentine sliders featuring eggs, spinach, kale and Parmesan with tomatoes and crispy potato straws served over biscuits. The second course features mixed greens with bread pudding croutons, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, pickled kohlrabi, feta cheese and mimosa vinaigrette. The third course serves up beef tenderloin medallions, crabmeat risotto, maple-glazed rainbow carrots, demi-glaze with charred ramps and fresh herbs. Finish off the meal with tres leches, raspberry coulis, fresh berries, lavender whipped cream and mint. This event begins at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 9 at 1:00 p.m. Brunch will be held outdoors at their beautiful farm – in the event rain is in the forecast they will move this event to their greenhouse. Celebrate Mother’s Day at Valley Park for a Mother’s Day Garden Tea Party! Enjoy the afternoon with your little one with food provided by Valley Cakes and Cafe, creating a Mommy & Me journal, and photos in the Mommy & Me Photo Booth! This event runs from 12p-2p in the Valley Park courtyard and dressing in your best tea party outfit is encouraged! Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for kids. Putnam County Dog Jog 5K Run and Walk
If you’re a dog mom, you can get outside with fido for the 6th Annual Putnam County Dog Jog 5K Run & Walk! This year’s event is going virtual, and participants are encouraged to venture out to a new route at one of our many trail systems throughout the county, or anywhere you desire. There are bonus prizes for entering the selfie contest and all participants will receive a t-shirt and a custom medal from Bear Wood Company in Hurricane. A Morning at the Putnam Farmer’s Market
The Putnam Farmer’s Market re-opens for the 2021 season on Saturday, May 1 from 9a-1p at Valley Park. Rivers to Ridges Mountain Bike Race & Ride
Gear up for the Rivers to Ridges Mountain Bike Race & Ride series set to take place next at the Meeks Mountain Trails at Hurricane City Park. Moms of toddlers can delight with their little ones for the strider bike race at 9a, and then riders of all levels kick off at 10a. The Meeks Mountain Trails offer routes from beginner to expert, and are true homegrown trails as they have been handcrafted by locals over the past couple of years.
